According to L’Équipe, three men have been charged by the local prosecutor in Marseille after firing shots at three Olympique de Marseille players. The three Marseille players who were shot at were Bamo Meïté (22), Jean Onana (24) and Faris Moumbagna (24).
After the OM team returned via plane following their final Ligue 1 match of the season against Le Havre, the shots were fired at the Marseille players. The three players were part of a convoy leaving the training ground of Les Olympiens – La Commanderie. The impasse took place in the 12th arrondissement of the city as a GPS error took the players in the wrong direction and led them down a dead end.
Three individuals, who have since been charged, were involved in a deep discussion. The three players were not targeted by the trio as gunshots were fired as a result of the heated discussion. All three men have been charged with attempted murder and have previous convictions on their criminal records related to drug trafficking.
