According to L’Équipe, Lyon defender Dejan Lovren (35) is set to complete a move to Greek club PAOK. The Croatian international is set to undergo a medical on Saturday before signing a two-year deal with the Thessaloniki-based club.
Lovren has been declared surplus to requirements at the Groupama Stadium. The centre-back has been training away from the first-team squad at OL as he has been placed in the ‘loft’ alongside Sinaly Diomandé. After Les Gones qualified for the Europa League against the odds last season, the 35-year-old has not been registered in Lyon’s squad for the continental competition.
Despite the French transfer window being closed, The Lyon defender is able to make his move to Greece due to the domestic transfer window still being open. Not playing for OL since January, Lovren will be hoping to move on from his unsuccessful return to France and find regular playing time in the latest chapter of his career.
